In the village at Hvolsvöllur (27 km) is the Icelandic Saga Centre (Sögusetrið) where you can learn about the world of Icelandic sagas and Norse mythology. It is 54 km to the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall, and from there it is 27 km / 17 mi to another famous waterfall, Skógafoss located in the countryside at the foothills of Eyjafjallajökull.
